Notation TrendPlus Publication recognizes the crucial role editors play in ensuring the quality, integrity, and impact of published books and edited volumes. These guidelines outline the responsibilities and best practices for editors who lead multi-author projects.
1. Role of the Editor
Editors serve as the intellectual leaders and coordinators of an edited volume. Their primary responsibilities include:

Ensuring academic and ethical quality throughout the volume.

Acting as the main point of contact between authors and the publisher.
2. Responsibilities of Editors
a) Planning the Volume

Prepare a book proposal including rationale, objectives, target audience, and tentative contents.

Ensure that chapter topics align with the theme and add value to the field.

Develop a realistic timeline for chapter submission, review, and final delivery.
b) Managing Authors

Invite authors with expertise in the relevant subject area.

Communicate author guidelines clearly (formatting, word limits, citation style).

Collect abstracts/extended summaries before full chapters, if needed, to check fit.

Provide regular updates and reminders to authors to meet deadlines.
c) Peer Review Coordination

Suggest or identify potential reviewers for submitted chapters.

Ensure the double-blind peer review process is followed.

Provide constructive feedback to authors based on reviewer comments.

Make recommendations to the publisher on acceptance, revision, or rejection.
d) Quality Assurance

Ensure consistency of writing style, formatting, and referencing across chapters.

Review figures, tables, and illustrations for quality (minimum 300 DPI).
e) Final Manuscript Preparation

Provide an editorial introduction summarizing the scope and significance of the book.

Submit a complete manuscript (chapters, references, permissions, bios).

Approve final proofs before publication.
3. Ethical Responsibilities

Maintain confidentiality of submissions and reviews.

Uphold integrity, fairness, and inclusivity in selection of contributors.
